Nest Alexander Signature Mattress Review
Just a Quick Update: Nest Bedding listening to the feedback they are getting from their users, changed their look from traditional-mixed-with-modern to a brand new modern look! Read my Nest Alexander Signature Mattress Review for more details below:
After trying out the Nest Bedding Love Bed mattress (and ended up being very happy with it) I knew I had to get my hands on their luxury line of mattresses. Because if the Love Bed (an entry-level mattress) made me smile from ear to ear, I could just imagine how amazing their luxury line would be!
For this review, I’m taking a look at the ins and outs of the Nest Alexander Signature Select Mattress. Basically, they call it the Alexander Signature Select and it’s targeted towards those who want a bit of indulgence to go with their mattresses.
If you’ve read my Nest Love Bed review (now Love & Sleep), then you already know a bit about Nest Bedding. For those who haven’t checked it out, Nest Bedding is a relatively new company. They arrived on the scene back in 2011 and have since been taking a different route in the online mattress community by providing all natural, eco-friendly bedding you can easily roll around in with different firmness levels. Continue reading for my Alexander Signature Select Mattress review.
Breaking Down the Layers
Created with only 3 layers of foam mattress, the Alexander mattress still comes up to 12-big inches of nothing but foam. Underneath the cover, you’ll find the following foam layers:
Top Layer – 2-inch thick visco foam. Visco foam is lauded because of its capacity for comfort and responsiveness. It’s kind of like a hybrid of latex and memory foam except it gets both the advantages of each one minus the disadvantages. The Loom & Leaf mattress also uses visco foam in one of its layers.
Middle Layer – 2-inch gel foam. Serving as the primary cooling layer, it prevents heat from remaining at the top layer. Instead, it sucks and absorbs it, eventually expelling it at the sides as well as the bottom of the mattress. It’s not just the cooling factor this foam provides, it also offers support and pressure relief.
Bottom Layer – 8-inch thick, super dense, convoluted foam. Most lower layers are made to serve as a foundation. And it’s no different with this one, except the type of foam used provides better compression support, durability as well as retains the mattress shape perfectly. The convoluted design includes channels where the air passes through; this also makes the mattress cool.
Nest Alexander Signature Mattress Review: All in the Cover
You know how much I love good covers, although we don’t see them after putting sheets on them. New Alexander Signature Select combines both traditional and modern style elements. Sides built from mesh and suede and overall it looks like it’s well put together and high quality.
All About the Alexander Signature Mattress
Firmness Options – Super perfect if you love options with your mattress. You’ll find the Alexander mattress to have a soft, medium or firm option. If you’re not sure, go for the medium firmness. Almost 80% of individuals actually prefer a firm option as opposed to the extremes.
Beautiful Quality – I’ve reviewed several mattresses already and I must admit, the quality you get from with the Nest Bedding is beyond amazing. The other company whose mattress quality lived beyond expectation for me was Brooklyn Bedding.
All Organic – Nest Bedding is the only company so far that’s offering an all-organic, eco-friendly set of beds. This decision has clearly done them a lot of good.
Perfect Body Support – With the Nest Alexander mattress, support is everywhere. I got the medium firmness mattress and it was a fantastic night’s sleep each time. I’m primarily a side and back sleeper but on occasion, I do roll on my front. The mattress gave me support everywhere. And the bounce (oh my, the bounce!) was as fun as the Nest Love mattress.
No Smell! – There’s no smell to be found in this mattress. In fact, after fully inflating from the box, you can sleep on this on the first night without any problem. I sure did!
Guarantees and Returns – Companies like Nest Bedding go out of their way to give their customers the best. The usual 100 days is traded for 101 trial days with the company. There’s a full refund if the mattress is returned within that period. Plus, there’s a 20-year warranty (!!!). And of course, free shipping.

Nest Alexander Signature Mattress Review: Final Verdict
The Nest Alexander Signature Mattress makes sense if you love a mattress that offers firmness options and a well-balanced feel. You get the right amount of bounce, comfort, and support included in each type. Plus, it’s got a luxurious and high-end quality for a bed-in-a-box.
Compared to the Leesa, Helix, or even Loom and Leaf, the Nest Alexander is a bit higher in price. It starts at $999 for a Twin and tops at $1,399 for a California King. However, personally, I think the price is worth investing in. You’re protected from all sides anyway, with Nest Bedding’s warranty and policies on returns. It’s a wonderful bed you will enjoy as much as I did.
