Allswell Mattress Review
Allswell is a newly debuted online mattress brand catering to the design conscious crowd. Does the brand have what it takes to please the masses? Let’s check it out in this in-depth Allswell mattress review.
Breaking Down the Layers
The Allswell released two flagship mattresses, identified merely as being: the Softer One, Allswell Luxe Classic and the Firmer One, Allswell Luxe Classic Firmer. Both mattresses actually have similar properties including a 12-inch height but they differ in construction, they are crafted to suit a particular sleeping crowd. The softer one is made from all-foam while the firmer version done in a hybrid of materials. The breakdown is as follows:
The Softer One: ALLSWELL LUXE CLASSIC
Top Layer: Composed of 1.5 inches of memory foam mattress. Together with the top cover, you get 2.5-inches of memory foam right at the top. This gives you a plush and comfortable feel the moment you hit the bed.
Second Layer: Composed of 1-inch proprietary Airflow foam layer. This serves as a transition layer from the top portion to the bottom half of the piece.
Third Layer: Composed of 3-inches of Super Soft foam. This 3-inch foam provides a quick and fast response. Primarily, this works as a transition layer while providing good pressure relief and lift.
Bottom Layer: Composed of 5.5-inches of high density polyfoam. This ensures there’s proper support for the top layers while offering deep compression to conform to your body’s shape.
The Firmer One: ALLSWELL LUXE CLASSIC FIRMER
Top Layer: Composed of 1-inch of Airflow foam. This proprietary foam is a lot like memory foam but it responds much slower, providing better sinkage and contouring. This sits underneath the quilted cover and is completely breathable.
Second Layer: Composed of 2.5-inches of soft polyfoam material. This layer serves as a good transition point between the softer top layer and firmer pocketed coil underneath. It’s here where you’ll get a feel for the mattresses’ buoyancy.
Bottom Layer: Composed of 7.5 inches of pocketed coils. You get a bouncy feel with excellent support thanks to this layer. Each coil is wrapped and ensures proper motion isolation while encouraging airflow.
Allswell Mattress Review: All in the Cover
The Allswell mattresses comprise the same cover fabric and design. It features an all-white cover with a beautiful quilted design. A 3-inch memory foam with SuperSoft foam is added to give it that pillow-top effect ensuring comfort and coolness all at once.
How Does It Perform
Since both mattresses are different from each other and serve two different types of sleepers, they also offer distinct performance.
The Softer One
In terms of firmness levels, the softer version measures a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Because of its soft nature, you get plenty of sinkage even with regular pressure. The smooth top cover and memory foam interacts with your body right away, ensuring you get comfort right when you hit the mattress. Motion transfer is very minimal with the soft Allswell. The all-foam construction absorbs most of the motion so it’s great when you sleep with a partner. Moreover, the softer mattress is highly recommended for anyone that adores an all-foam feel.
The Firmer One
Despite being dubbed as the “firm” mattress, the firmness level for this mattress is around 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale which make a perfect medium-firm mattress. It’s a significant difference from the soft version but not completely. This mattress features great edge support, with little compression. As for motion transfer, the firmer option still offers a good motion isolation (not as good as soft model).
Allswell Mattress Review: The Final Verdict
Overall, the Allswell mattresses seem promising. Both are made from quality materials and the price point is relatively affordable for a luxury mattress. You get good value for your money while ensuring quality at the same time. Both mattresses offer great support and pressure relief as well. As for the differences, it’s a matter of taste whether you’ll want the softer or firmer version but both are capable of providing a good night’s rest. But probably I’d say if you want extra contouring and pressure relief, and like a medium feeling get the softer version. If you like extra support and like a medium-firm feeling, get the firmer hybrid option. And, again, it’s my personal opinion.
