Nolah Evolution Mattress Review – Is It The Right Luxury Mattress For You?
With a flurry of bed-in-a-box mattress companies showing up online, Nolah sets themselves apart by promising an ultra-luxurious hybrid mattress reinforced to accommodate combo sleepers, no matter what position they prefer! Meet the Nolah Evolution Mattress!
Let’s take a look at what makes the Nolah Evolution different and see if it measures up with this detailed Nolah Evolution mattress review.
Breaking Down the Layers
The Nolah Evolution is a 15-inch thick mattress that combines innerspring and foam patented materials to give sleepers the right amount of plushness and bounce when they sleep.
First Layer: 2-inch thick patented foam layer called the AirFoamICE. This foam layer draws away excess heat from the body and surface while doubling as a comfort and support layer. This is the layer immediately underneath the cover. More on the cover below.
Second Layer: 2-inch layer of Nolah’s “deep supportive high-resilience foam.” Nolah claims this foam is stronger than a latex mattress. It also serves as a transition and supportive layer.
Third Layer: 8-inch thick coil layer called the Patented HDMax TM Eco Support Coils. By opting for a patented coil layer, the Nolah Evolution offers 25% support compared to traditional spring mattresses. These coils are wrapped in Edge-Tech support foam, preventing rollovers.
Fourth Layer: 1-inch thick high-density orthopedic support foam. This serves as the foundation of the mattress while offering strong support for the coils.
All in the Cover
Like most luxury mattresses, the Nolah Evolution has a 2-inch euro pillow cover made from ArcticTex material.
The beautiful light gray shade topped with quilted decorative details not only makes the mattress look instantly elegant but also does the job of keeping you cool while you sleep.
Nola describes the top fibers as having “high thermal conductivity,” a fancy way of saying it draws heat from your body, giving you a cool night’s rest.
The cover is also fitted with four handles, two per side, making it easy to move around and position.
Please note you can’t remove the cover. Some may find this annoying but it gives the mattress a premium appearance like something you’d find inside a fancy boutique hotel.
The only downside, even if some love the idea of a non-removable cover, is that it can be tricky to clean once it gets dirty. Don’t let this be a deal-breaker though as there’s always an option to spot clean any spills or stains.
How Does It Perform
When it comes to performance, the Nolah Evolution mattress excels in plenty of key points.
Thanks to the plush euro-pillow cover, you immediately feel comfortable when you first lie down. This layer gives you a light, almost floating sensation, the moment you hit the covers.
There’s no sinking feeling though thanks to the supportive layers underneath, which includes the sturdy coil spring layer.
It’s important to remember though if you’re on the heavier and larger side, (above 230 pounds) the mattress might not be supportive enough for you and it could feel soft.
On the other hand, if you’re on the petite side, unlike other medium mattresses you’re not going to feel it’s too firm for you.
While making this Nolah Evolution mattress review, it was apparent there was one area where the mattress shines and that is in providing a solid sleeping surface for combination sleepers.
Those who tend to sleep on their sides, particularly, will love this mattress! It gives adequate support in key points like the shoulders and hips while keeping the spine aligned.

Nolah Evolution Mattress – Mattress Performance Breakdown
Comfort
Thanks to the 2-inch euro-pillow cover, comfort is superb on the Nolah Evolution! You sink slightly when you first hit the cover, but not enough that it gets uncomfortable.
Firmness
For firmness and feel, I would say the Nolah hits a middle ground between hard and soft. This medium-firmness, around a 5 out of 10, gives the mattress plenty of versatility.
Smell
Off-gassing is common for most bed-in-a-box mattresses and it’s no different when I did this Nolah Evolution mattress review. There was slight off-gassing but nothing crazy. Just make sure to air it out for an hour or two in a well-ventilated room if the smell bothers you.
Bounciness
Between the coils and the proprietary Nolah foam, there is a lot of of bounce in the mattress. The transition layer does a great job of keeping the movement manageable, so if you sleep with a partner they won’t end up bothering you when they move around or vice versa.
Edge Support
The Nolah Evolution is built with edge support, so even if you tend to gravitate towards the edge of the bed when you sleep, it holds up really well. Of course remember for light to average weight sleepers this is accurate.
Motion Transfer
The mattress does a good job of keeping motion transfer minimal. Couples won’t be bothering their partners as much if they decide to get in and out of bed in the middle of the night compare to other hybrids.
Sleeps Cool
All-foam mattresses can be notorious for capturing heat. However, the Nolah Evolution is crafted with the AirFoamICE which helps wick away moisture and lets you sleep cool throughout the night. The support coil construction also allows better airflow.
Durability
Evolution is a very durable mattress, you can even see that from the pictures. Like the Nolah Signature 12, the Nolah Evolution comes with a lifetime warranty. This ensures the mattress will last for years to come and the company is ready to repair or replace them when needed. (I’m not sure what is a “repairing” really means, so you can research that more in details – but sure it sounds good).
The Final Verdict:
If you’re after a great all-around hybrid mattress, the Nolah Evolution is something to keep in mind!
It’s perfect if you’re looking for a mattress with medium firmness and highly recommended for side sleepers and combination sleepers who weigh less than 230 pounds. If you’re on the heavier and larger side, it might be too soft and if you’re petite, it could be too firm.
The 15-inch construction of the bed offers solid support while the top cover layer and coil spring design let you sleep cool. With the proprietary, ArcticTex fibers and graphite-infused AirFoamICE, you get a good amount of heat dissipation so you won’t sleep hot at all.
Overall, the Nolah Evolution mattress is a great mattress to have on your radar if you want a luxurious-looking mattress with strong medium support.
Plus, it’s got a lifetime warranty so Nolah will repair or replace your mattress if you find it’s not up to par as the years go on. You can’t beat that deal, right?
I hope you’ll walk away from this Nolah Evolution mattress review with better insight on whether this is the mattress for you or not.
