Nolah Original 10 Mattress Review
One of the newest mattress companies to hit the market is Nolah. Launching in 2015, they’ve had 5 years to make a name for themselves and prove they know their stuff. The founders have a combined 40+ years of mattress/sleep industry experience so their products should be fully loaded. Tired of having to deal with the slow responsiveness of foams and sleeping hot? Nolah has developed a revolutionary high-resilience pressure-relieving foam, called AirFoam, to not only solve the two problems above but also make themselves known for being the best option for side sleepers. Does it live up to expectations and promises? Let’s find out in the Nolah Mattress review below:
Breaking Down the Layers
The Nolah Original is made up of 10-inches worth of foam and divided into three main layers.
Top Layer: Composed of 2-inches of proprietary AirFoam. This layer provides great contour and comfort to the body without retaining heat because they don’t use viscoelastic chemicals that are commonly found in memory foam.
Middle Layer: Composed of 1-inch deep supportive high-resilience foam. Serves as the comfort and transition layer that is stronger and more durable than latex. This layer provides a pleasant and responsive bounce when you sleep.
Bottom Layer: Composed of 7-inches of the best U.S. made high-density breathable base foam. This serves as a solid and durable foundation to support and reinforce the upper layers.
All in the Cover: Nolah Original 10 Mattress Review
The Nolah Original features a Botanic Origin Tencel cover, yay! This brand new snow-white Tencel cellulosic cover of botanic origin defines a new standard of sustainability and natural sleep comfort. Soft to touch, plush, and sleek, this cover wraps up the bed in all its beauty and coolness.
As for looks, the Nolah mattress looks elegant and sophisticated. While the cover isn’t removable for washing, it does lend that classic look and makes for a wonderful touch to the bed.
How Does It Perform
Offering a medium-soft 5 firmness, the Nolah mattress allows general sleepers to enjoy comfort as well as support when they sleep. When you push down on it, the Nolah foam conforms to your body with ease without giving you that sinking feeling you would find in memory foam. Do note that despite being a medium-firm, the comfort level might not be ideal for heavier back sleepers but it is recommended for all side sleepers. Minimal motion transfer can be found on the mattress so it’s ideal for lightweight – average weight couples as well. It also doesn’t sleep hot thanks to the AirFoam Nolah created. For those looking for a mattress that is temperature neutral and doesn’t trap heat, this one for you!

Other Nolah Mattress Options
Outside of the Nolah Original 10, the brand also has two options available for sleepers looking for a thicker flippable mattress or a hybrid fully loaded with features. See below:
Nolah Signature 12 (Brands flagship model): a 12” flippable mattress with two firmness levels and more of that Nolah AirFoam we love.
Nolah Evolution 15” Hybrid (Brand new!): a 15” hybrid with both AirFoam as well as coils/springs making it a great option for those needing extra comfort and pressure relief.
The Final Verdict: Nolah Mattress Review
Overall, my experience with the Nolah Original was quite enjoyable. Although a younger brand, they have really invested time and attention into this mattress pinpointing a lot of features that sleepers can benefit from. It features good construction, provides great breathability ensuring you won’t sleep hot, gives you great pressure relief and comfort while also giving your body ample support when you sleep. Perhaps one of the greatest parts of the Nolah experience is that the price is very budget-friendly for the quality product you receive. I recommend this to side sleepers, people suffering from joint pain, sleepers who run hot, and anyone looking to upgrade their sleeping experience.
